What Is PAT testing
Portable Appliance Testing is a vital section of your health & safety policy. PAT Testing or In-service Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment is the process in which portable equipment is tested for electrical safety.
The Health & Safety Executive states that a quarter of all accidents with electrical equipment are based around portable appliances.
Testing procedure
Tests are carried out on all electrical items That require testing under the scope of the IET (IEE) PAT Testing Code Of Practice.
What happens if an item fails?
Where an item is damaged or worn to an extent that it may impair electrical
safety or electrical tests do not pass, the item will be failed.
Where possible however, we will carry out repair of an item and if satisfied
will re test at no extra charge. If an item is failed and repair is not
possible on site we will note this and suggest a course of action.
No charges are generally made for occasional replacement of plugs or fuses or
renewal of short lengths of mains cable whilst on site.
Other information
We try to avoid disruption wherever possible and will carry out tests in your premises at a time best suited to you.
